Sometimes, a joke is just so dumb that you can’t help but laugh in disbelief. You’re laughing – but you’re also kind of feeling bad for both the person telling it and the person hearing it. There aren’t a lot of examples for this situation better than this one.
The joke is that “cash who” kind of sounds like “cashew,” as in the nut. Of course, te response is that the joker would rather have a peanut instead. We think the person on the other end summed up our thoughts perfectly – they’re ridiculous.
