Movies to look out for this winter

Can you feel it? The days are a little shorter and the wind is coming through with a slight chill on it. Winter is on its way. When the weather turns chilly, the best thing to do is to watch a movie. We have the perfect line-up of the top must-see movies being released over the next few icy months.

Jumanji 3: The Next Level (December 13th, 2019)

The incredible all-star cast is back for another hilarious round. Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, and Jack Black have some amazing on-screen chemistry that just keeps the comedy rolling. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (December 20th, 2019)

Directed by J.J. Abrams, Episode IX of the Star Wars saga has been highly anticipated throughout all fan circles and beyond. The trailers don’t give away too much, but from what we can gather, there will be plenty of old and new faces on screen. Even possibly Emperor Palpatine and Yoda? This has us befuddled as well. But, as the trailers tell us, “No one’s ever really gone.”

Cats (December 20th, 2019)

Based on the musical stage production composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber, Cats is said to be a brilliant display of music, choreography, and CGI. The star-studded cast includes Judi Dench, Idris Elba, Ian McKellen, and Rebel Wilson to name a few. Directed by Tom Hooper (director of Les Misérables) this film should be nothing short of spectacular.

Under Water (January 10th, 2020)

This much-anticipated film starring Kristen Stewart and T.J. Miller is an adventure-horror-thriller directed by William Eubank. The plot of the film takes place completely underwater where core drilling has awakened a rather nasty force that wreaks havoc on the base station. Hold on for a thrilling ride with this one.

Bad Boys 3: For Life (January 17th, 2020)

It’s been 17 years since we last saw detectives Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett taking on the offenders of Miami. Will Smith and Martin Lawrence are returning in 2020 in their typical good cop bad cop fashion for one final battle royal. It will be interesting to see how well the directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah can live up to the previous Michael Bay experiences that were nothing short of brilliant.

The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle (January 17th, 2020)

This one just might be the underdog of all the titles on this list. Because of its incredibly talented on-screen and voice acting cast, we can’t see this film being anything other than a box office hit. Directed by Stephen Gaghan and starring Robert Downey Jr as the leading role, the plotline is based on the original story of Doctor Dolittle, who was created by Hugh Lofting back in 1920.

With great films like these coming out this winter, although there will be plenty of cold moments, there will never be any dull ones. Time to wrap up warmly, grab a partner, and get ready to hit the nearest cinema. Don’t forget the popcorn and snacks.
