Every upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe movie

With a very final ending for some members of the MCU, the future seemed uncertain once ‘Avengers: Endgame’ reached our cinema screens. However, thankfully Marvel have finally released information about some of their planned oncoming titles. We’re essentially looking at the release of Phase 4 which is set to introduce some new and interesting characters.

‘Black Widow’ – May 1, 2020

Anyone who has seen ‘Avengers: Endgame’ knows that it didn’t end well for Black Widow, otherwise known as Natalie Romanova, or Romanoff. However, it seems she’s coming back for a belated solo movie, in which people have speculated that it’s set after the events of ‘Captain America: Civil War’. However, that has not been confirmed, but people are still hoping it will contain references to the current MCU events and shed some light on the situation regarding Nick Fury’s space fleet. However, until then, people get to see Black Widow in her own, solo movie.

‘The Eternals – November 6, 2020’

This isn’t as new as everyone thinks. Of course, it’s based off the comic book, but we have already had hints to the eternals and there is a link to the MCU. The Eternals are linked the Celestials in some way, and we know that Peter Quill’s father was a Celestial. There is also a link to Thanos, who is related to them somehow as the Eternals colonized his planet, Titan. It also relates to the Kree who also tried duplicating their experiments, and created the Inhumans. It’s due November next year and looks awesome.

‘Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings’ – February 2021

We know that this movie is coming sooner than they expected ready to represent the first superhero of his kind. Shang-Chi is the son of a very powerful man, who he ends up feeling betrayed by. The movie outlines exactly why Shang-Chi decided to follow the path he ended down. It’s going back to another heroes origins movie, so this probably won’t be a standalone movie, and we’ll be expecting much more than what we see here.

‘Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness’ – May 2021

This will be the first movie with familiar characters set in the current state of affairs of phase 4, or at least after everything. However, this movie seems to be introducing the multiverse, whereby many different realities can exist side by side. This has already been hinted at in ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’. The movie is also said to include the Scarlet Witch, played by Elizabeth Olsen, and it’ll be interesting seeing her following from Endgame side-by-side with Doctor Strange.

Doctor Strange

‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ – November 2021

Don’t pretend you’re not absolutely gasping to see this already. It’s safe to say that Thor is an absolute fan favorite, but the details revealed have been very juicy indeed. Natalie Portman will be reprising her role, except she’ll be coming back to wield Thor’s hammer. Fans also get to enjoy the same director as ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ that had audiences roaring with laughter at the incredibly funny ingenuity of this movie. We will also be graced with the presence of Valkyrie.

That’s it for phase 4 of the MCU, however, other titles that have been confirmed or hinted at include ‘Black Panther 2’, which may come to our screens May 2022. A remake, or rekindling of the movie ‘Blade’ is also coming, although the date has not been announced. Fans are also expecting a ‘Captain Marvel 2’ and ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ to come some point either in 2022 or 2023. For now, there’s an awful lot to look forward to.
