This movie follows a Texan cop, played by Reese Witherspoon, who likes sticking close to the rules, perhaps a little too close. Her life gets thrown upside down, as she gets tasked to safely transport a mobster’s wife (Sofia Vergara) to Dallas, where she is to testify in court. Along the way, they hit many lumps and bumps, but perhaps this is exactly what both women need in their lives.
Bridesmaids (2011) – starring: Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Rose Byrne, Ellie Kemper, Melissa McCarthy, and Wendi McLendon-Covey
If you loved The Hangover movie then Bridesmaids is definitely for you as this is the female version of it. This movie centers around Annie, played by Kristen Wiig, who is asked to be the maid of honor at her best friend Lilian’s (Maya Rudolph) wedding. It is not easy being the maid of honor though and soon a series of misfortune ensues.
The Heat (2013) – starring: Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy
This movie is not just your normal female-buddy cop movie but shows two women in a male-dominated profession and absolutely owning it. Sarah (Sandra Bullock) is a federal agent that likes to do things by the book and Shannon (Melissa McCarthy) is a loud-mouth Boston cop. Sarah gets assigned to Boston to take down a drug lord and has to work with Shannon to accomplish this. At first, things seem rocky but soon they surprise everyone by becoming the ultimate team!
Pitch Perfect (2012) – starring: Anna Kendrick, Elizabeth Banks, and Brittany Snow
Beca (Anna Kendricks) reluctantly joins the Bellas, an all-female acapella group, at her new university. The Bellas include a group of girls with very different personalities, goals, and dreams.
