Movies from your childhood you should go back and watch again

If any of you have a time machine, it’d be great if you could let us know, because we’d love to borrow it! We’re totally done being an adult and would like to go back to being a kid, thank you very much. We don’t have to stress about bills or worry about getting up for work in the morning, we can eat as many Turkey Twizzlers as we want (AKA, a lot), and we’re actually encouraged to have a nap. I mean, what could be better than that? Of course, unless you’re Marty McFly and have a Delorean parked on your driveway, we have a feeling you’re not going to have a time machine. In which case, we’re just gonna have to settle for these awesome movies you definitely need to rewatch as an adult.

Hocus Pocus

If you’re wondering what to do for Halloween this year, we don’t even know why you’re debating it. Isn’t the answer obvious? You watch Hocus Pocus! This movie is the ultimate Halloween movie, and although it might not be scary, it’s actually pretty spooky in some places. You really can’t get better than a casting of Kathy Najimy, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Bette Midler with stick-on noses and this movie will bring back all of the childhood feels. When you watch this back as an adult, you’ll realize you missed out on so many awesome jokes as a kid.

My Girl

Altogether now… “I guess you’d say, what can make me feel this way? MY GUUUUUUURL.” If you’re looking for a good ol’ cry, we’d recommend rewatching My Girl. This movie follows the life of Vada as she makes it through the weird and wonderful world of childhood. Her dad gets remarried, her dad annoys her all of the time, her grandmother doesn’t know who she is anymore, and then she has to suffer the blow of her first (adorable) boyfriend passing away after being stung by bees. It’s a tough time for Vader, and you just want to give her a hug. Maybe give the television a hug instead.

The Secret Garden

If you wanna feel totally nostalgic, you just have to shove The Secret Garden into your VCR player – if you still even have one of these ancient artifacts. This 1993 movie follows the life of Mary Lennox as she goes to live with her uncle after her parents sadly pass away. As she deals with an empty house without nobody to talk to, she eventually finds solace in a secret garden that she finds within the grounds. This movie also stars the legend that is Maggie Smith, so you better get on that ASAP to avoid making her sad.

The Land Before Time

Who doesn’t love an awesome movie about dinosaurs? Yep, before Ice Age came along with all of its special effects and sloths, The Land Before Time was ruling the roost. Or at least ruling the cave. While the premise of this story made your heart warm when you were younger, the whole thing will now make you feel a bit more sad than usual. After all, we all know what happened to the dinosaurs, and there’s a reason they’re not around today! Nevertheless, you’ll still enjoy it and buy a plush toy of one of them after. Guaranteed.

Space Jam

Could we really talk about childhood movies without talking about Space Jam? We think not. Space Jam is the ultimate crossover movie that features our favorite Looney Tunes characters, as well as the famous basketball player, Michael Jordan. We’re not sure why it’s a thing, but we’re so glad that it is. If you want a feel-good movie, you just can’t go wrong with this one. In fact, we’re going to watch it right now.

Being a kid was so great that we’d do anything to go back and do it all over again. We took too many things for granted, man. Thankfully, we can still look back on these awesome childhood movies and re-watch them over again (and again, and again).
